In the 1930s, Axel Romer invented the technology of using an LED as the aiming point, and in 1975, Aimpoint introduced the reflective curved mirror. Although red dot sights lost some market share in the high-end segment after the introduction of holographic sights, reflective red dot sights have remained popular due to their compact size, easy installation, and reliable design. These sights are widely adopted by major brands and are commonly mounted on handguns, shotguns, and various long-range rifles, making them the primary choice for quick targeting within 50 yards.
